About the Series
The Classic Adelaide Veterans Series (CAVS) has been held in January each year, since the Tour Down Under first came to Adelaide in 1999.
Each year, the Series has continued to grow, with a total of 463 nominations being received in 2009 for the three events (Criteriums – 167; Road Race – 195; and Individual Time Trial – 101).
The Series now also sees people competing from all parts of Australia, as well as internationally.
In 2010, the Series sees the return of the 300m sprint (Age Division event) as well as the inclusion of a new event – a 6km Hill Climb (Graded Individual Time Trial), that we hope will add another exciting dimension to this already wonderful Series.
Also on trial in 2010 is the allocation of prize money for each event, with prize money to each Grade or event being awarded on a “number of competitors per grade basis”. Placings allocated to each Grade will also be dependant on the number of competitors per grade.
