REDRAFTING OF CONSTITUTION

The SAVCC constitution has been redrafted and a meeting will be called shortly to vote on acceptance of the redraft. The new version and explanatory notes are available here.

PASSING OF TOM TROWBRIDGE

Stalwart of Veteran cycling in South Australia, Tom Trowbridge, passed away on the 9th April 2010, after several years of ill health as a result of a serious crash in the 2007 Classic Veterans Series road race at Hahndorf. A valedictory written by Bob Ritter is attached.

STATE HANDICAPPER
Congratulations to Geoff Hillman on gaining this position and being prepared to sacrifice riding in these events himself. Geoff is well-known and respected in Vets cycling and has the skills and experience to work with each of the club handicappers so that between them you receive the best and fairest opportunities in your racing.

CALLING FOR VOLUNTEERS FOR CRITERIUM 2010-2011

Both the Graded Races and the Teams Series would have to be the best in Australia.  The SAVCC wants your registration of interest. You can nominate as an individual helper and/or as a club or group.  We are always looking for new ways of doing things.  Your group or club may be prepared to conduct 3 or 4 races giving the normal officials a break.  Your ideas on how to attract new riders to Vets cycling is always welcome.

SECRETARY FOR SAVCC
Julie Jahmes-Freak stepped into this role after the last SAVCC AGM.  We thank her for doing a great job however, we promised her that in time someone would step up to this position.  So if you would be prepared to give something BACK TO VETS cycling please contact the President SAVCC

SAVCC CONSISTENCY AWARD
I take this opportunity to thank Greg Chivers in accepting this task again this year. I thank him for the many years he has given much time back to cycling.
